The use of lettering (DEAM) to be the basis of most of the paintings and show the twists and variations that can be achieved when using the letterform as the starting point to create an almost abstract piece of work. Sort of like structures that dont really represent anything at all. Some maybe vaguely readable and others not so easily. Graffiti Writers traditionally created wild style pieces to speak to other Graffiti Writers whilst the average person having zero idea what it might say if anything. It would show style and technique and act as a camouflage or protection around the initial name or tag. The New York legend Rammellzee always stated that the letters were armoured vehicles with arrows as protection. If the arrows were pointed inwards then the piece would self destuct.
